INTRO:
In traditional Taiwanese Taoist belief, the "amulet" is a vital symbol of protection and peace. From being tucked into wallets to hanging on motorbikes, these sacred objects accompany people through every stage of life. It is a heartfelt tradition for parents to gift an amulet to their children after their first birthday, serving as a spiritual prayer for their safety, smooth growth, and well-being.
This project brings this tradition to life through the eyes of a child, centering the narrative on the profound connection with their amulet. By focusing on this symbolic object, the story introduces the audience to the essence of Taiwan’s temple culture in a relatable way. The narrative transforms a complex religious concept into a touching visual exploration of faith, family, and cultural identity.
